Mars looks deeper and passes the outer to the inner - finding the true definition of beauty - which is beyond form. The imagery in his work stems from the very strong visual and emotional impact. Chris presents the innner pains we all feel and brings them to the surface. Struggling to hide what we think everyone can see. These images and figures represent real human feelings, judgement, apathy, emotional pain presented for all the world to see. This exhibition challenges the viewer to look beyond the ugliness. You are then asked to redefine the word, ugly. Powerful, emotional and psychological, it all compels a crooked smile. This exhibition, a year and a half in the making is not to be missed.

Artists Statement:
"To consider and cheer on those on the fringe; those recklessly labeled, boxed, discounted, disregarded or discarded. It is humanity that defines our experience on this earth, our individual humanity, our common humanity, our struggle against inhumanity. There is a societal temptation to turn true beings into little more than titles, statistics, markets and demographics. There is a societal temptation to dismiss or even to demean those who do not fit readily into its categories. I seek to champion the Humanity in each human being, and most especially those whose very individually propels their very humanity, and with this both tests and propels the humanity of those around them. The very fact of being alive, here, now bonds each of us. There is free will and there is circumstance. I exercise the former so that we consider the latter, and thus may come to know both beauty and mercy."
